Introducing Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy (PRP)

ABOUT PLATELET RICH PLASMA THERAPY

Over the past few years, the PRP injection has proved to be a hugely popular treatment in aesthetic and regenerative medicine, and it remains at the forefront of age management due to its well-known ability to stimulate tissue repair. We offer advanced Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy in Mississauga using the Eclipse PRP System, which produces the highest possible concentration of growth factors, in order to rejuvenate the skin and body and stimulate hair growth. One of the benefits of undertaking Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy with us is that the treatment can be combined with our other aesthetic and micro injection procedures in order to enhance the results.

WHAT IS PLATELET RICH PLASMA THERAPY AND HOW DOES IT WORK?

Known for their clotting ability, platelets contain hundreds of proteins known as growth factors, which play a crucial role in the body’s ability to heal itself. The platelet-rich plasma in PRP injections contains five to ten times more growth factors than normal blood. This is due to our Eclipse PRP System centrifuge’s ability to separate the concentrated platelets from red blood cells, which are subsequently discarded after centrifugation, leaving only the growth factor-rich PRP solution. This growth factor initiates tissue repair and attracts the body’s own stem cells to areas of damaged tissue, expediting the process of regeneration.

Our method of Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy in Mississauga is a natural, safe and effective means of combating signs of ageing  and hair loss through the careful extraction, processing, and intradermal deposition of plasma-rich blood into different areas of the face and body.

THE TREATMENT PROCESS

During PRP injection therapy, a small amount of blood is drawn before centrifugation takes place in our gold standard Eclipse PRP machine. For aesthetic PRP injections, a small syringe is used to deposit the PRP subcutaneously. Although this sounds painful, each PRP injection is well-tolerated.

The number of injections needed depends on the amount of coverage that needs to be given to the affected area. With aesthetic PRP injections, we use a ‘point by point’ micro injection technique, whereby a small amount of PRP is deposited at regular intervals directly under the skin.

WHAT KIND OF RESULTS CAN I EXPECT FROM PLATELET RICH PLASMA THERAPY?

Improvements are often reported after PRP injections. To be on the safe side, restraint from certain physical activities including rigorous exercise and heavy lifting is advisable throughout this period.

When we perform Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy in Mississauga for skin rejuvenation and hair loss, we expect any treated areas to be mildly swollen and flushed for up to seventy-two hours. Mineral makeup and anti-inflammatory topical products may be applied throughout the first five days. After the first week has passed, you will notice significant improvements and at three weeks, you will appreciate a remarkable difference in the quality of your skin and growth of new baby hair. Results typically peak at three months and retain for at least one year.

Single treatments are possible, although a course of treatments is recommended depend on your need.
